Earlier in the day, Favre reportedly complained of pain when he takes deep breaths and stated he thinks he might have a cracked rib. Backups Sage Rosenfels and Tarvaris Jackson saw limited action, with Rosenfels going for 26 yards on 2-of-3 efficiency and Jackson ending 2-for-2 for 22 yards.
Adrian Peterson gained 117 yards and a score on 11 carries for the Vikings. Chester Taylor added 30 yards on seven carries to go with 41 yards and a TD on three catches.

Keisel, the club’s seventh-round draft choice out of BYU in 2002, is locked up through the 2013 season. He recorded 41 tackles and one sack over 10 games last season. Over his six-year career in the Steel City, the Utah native has racked up 181 tackles and 11 1/2 sacks in 76 contests.
“I am extremely happy for a lot of reasons,” Keisel said after the deal was completed.

A third-round pick out of Oklahoma in 2006, Dvoracek has appeared in just 13 games in three seasons due to injuries. He missed his entire rookie year with a foot injury and tore his left ACL in the first game of the 2007 season. He made 12 starts last season before tearing his right biceps muscle.
Dvoracek has 31 tackles in his career, including 29 in 2008.

Johnson, who was selected by the Texans with the 16th overall pick in the 2005 draft, recorded 106 tackles and two sacks in 54 games (38 starts) over four seasons with Houston.
He has spent most of the offseason recovering from surgery for a hernia.

Owens was apparently able to participate fully in practice, the first time he was on the field since going down with the problem during the Hall of Fame contest August 9 against Tennessee.
“Yeah, it felt good to be back out,” Owens said in an interview conducted following afternoon sessions. “Obviously with toe injuries, there’s no way of playing through it, but I’ve done all the treatments, it’s gotten better week to week, and I felt well enough to come into practice.” Owens later admitted his toe issue was a result of the type of shoe he was wearing, and not the result of any misstep or physical contact. As a result, he is ready to play if head coach Dick Jauron lets him, in the Bills’ preseason finale on Thursday agains

Williams, the team’s first pick in this year’s draft and a third-round selection, suffered a high ankle sprain versus the 49ers in a preseason affair last Saturday.
Hamlin, a fifth-round pick, broke his wrist in the contest.

Brown, the team’s second-round pick in the 2009 draft, suffered a wrist injury during an August 22 preseason game against San Diego.
In four seasons at Connecticut, Brown notched 24 sacks, 150 tackles, six forced fumbles and two recoveries while starting 33 of 42 games. He was an All-Big East First-Team selection in 2008 after recording 11 sacks and five forced fumbles in 13 games.

The fifth-year pro was slowed by injuries last season as well, playing in only 10 games after signing with Cincy as a free agent out of Indianapolis. He caught 16 passes for 123 yards in 2008 and started in six games.
The Bengals also waived/injured tight end Matt Sherry.

Rolle, who re-signed with Baltimore in April, will begin the season on the PUP, which will force him to miss the Ravens’ first six games of the regular season.
The 12-year veteran was put on the PUP list in July due to the injury. The 33-year-old missed six games last season because of the ailment, which required surgery.

Boley, signed by the Giants as a free agent in February, underwent an arthroscopic procedure on June 24 to repair a torn labrum in his hip.
The former Atlanta Falcon is eligible to practice, but won’t be able to play in the 2009 season-opener against Washington while he serves a one-game suspension from the NFL for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.
