Crompton leads Tennessee past No. 21 South Carolina

Tennessee had a last-second field goal blocked that could have defeated the Crimson Tide.

Crompton finished with 142 yards on 12-of-24 efficiency, while Hardesty rushed for 121 yards on 23 carries for the Volunteers (4-4, 2-3 SEC), who took advantage of four South Carolina turnovers to win for the second time in three games.

Big second half powers Yellow Jackets over Vanderbilt

Nesbitt was 6-of-13 throwing for 193 yards and ran for 56 more on 16 carries for the Yellow Jackets (8-1), who won their sixth straight game and are zeroing in on an ACC Coastal Division crown.

Roddy Jones rushed for 80 yards and scored while Demaryius Thomas and Embry Peeples each caught a TD pass in the win. The latter gained 117 yards on just two catches while the former made four grabs for 76 yards.

LSU shuts down Tulane

Jefferson completed 11 of his 17 attempts through the air for 163 yards, while Scott finished with 112 yards on 18 carries for the Tigers (7-1), who extended their non-conference winning streak to 22 games, the longest in the nation.

“We wanted this game just like it is,” said LSU head coach Les Miles. “We wanted to be tested against a good club, we wanted to answer those challenges. We wanted to run the football better and wanted to get some guys in the game and we did.” LaFell made four grabs for 85 yards, and Russell Shepard added a touchdown run in the win.

Texas picks off Robinson, Oklahoma State to stay unbeaten

Colt McCoy was 16-of-21 for 171 yards and a touchdown and Cody Johnson scored twice on the ground for the Longhorns (8-0, 5-0 Big 12), who were coming off an equally impressive 41-7 dismantling of Missouri in Columbia last weekend.

Jordan Shipley had six catches for 64 yards and Macolm Williams made two grabs for 55 yards and a TD as Texas moved closer to wrapping up the Big 12 South title fresh off two consecutive conference road wins.

Notre Dame tames Cougars in blowout affair

25 Notre Dame cruised to a 40-14 victory over lowly Washington State at the Alamodome.

Jimmy Clausen padded his resume with 268 yards and two touchdowns on 22-of-27 efficiency for the Fighting Irish (6-2), who have won five of their last six. Clausen appeared to tweak a turf toe injury in the third quarter, and as a precaution was taken out of the game.

Utah tops Wyoming for fifth straight win

Wide tied a school record with his fifth straight 100-yard rushing game.

Wynn finished 9-of-14 with 82 yards in relief of Terrance Cain, who had 121 yards on 10-of-13 passing in the first half for the Utes (7-1, 4-0 MWC), who won their fifth straight game. Jereme Brooks notched 65 yards and a score on three catches in the win.

Oregon runs all over USC in pivotal Pac-10 battle

Masoli completed 19-of-31 passes for the Ducks (7-1, 5-0 Pac-10), who have won seven in a row since a season-opening loss at Boise State. LaMichael James rushed for a career-high 185 yards and a score on 25 carries for Oregon, which sits two games ahead of USC in the Pac-10 standings.

Kenjon Barner and Andre Crenshaw each had a rushing TD. Jamere Holland caught three passes for 32 yards and a score for the Ducks, who outgained the Trojans, 611-323.

Jones leads Sooners to win over Kansas State

Bradford, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, elected to have season-ending surgery on his shoulder this past week, and there is a good chance that he will enter the NFL Draft come April.

Jones finished 26-of-37 for the Sooners (5-3, 3-1 Big 12), who won their second in a row.

Penn State uses strong second half to take down Northwestern

Evan Royster ran for 118 yards on 15 carries, including a 69-yard scoring scamper, and Clark completed 22-of-31 passes with a 53-yard scoring strike to Derek Moye, who totaled 123 yards on six catches.

Collin Wagner booted a pair of field goals early on in a close game for the Nittany Lions (8-1, 4-1 Big Ten), who have won five straight and avoided a letdown a week before their highly-anticipated tilt with Ohio State.

Dalton, TCU rocks UNLV to remain unbeaten

Dalton finished 12-for-21 passing and also gained 53 yards on the ground for the Horned Frogs (8-0, 4-0 MWC), who won their 12th straight home game and 10th straight overall. Ed Wesley tallied 86 yards and a score on seven carries and also had a 21-yard TD catch in the win.

Antoine Hicks had a 75-yard TD catch, while Jeremy Kerley and Billy Pizor also caught a touchdown pass each.
