Ryan suffered the injury in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay and returned to the sideline in the second half with his foot in a walking boot.
Chris Redman led the team to a 20-17 victory with 243 yards and two touchdowns on 23-of-41 attempts and will start next week against the Eagles. John Parker Wilson, who went undrafted last year coming out of Alabama, will serve as the backup.

Rogers suffered lower leg and ankle injuries during the Browns’ 16-7 loss to Cincinnati on Sunday and will be place on injured reserve, according to Mangini.
The three-time Pro Bowl selection had two sacks and 36 total tackles — 27 solo — in 11 games this season.

Delhomme had thrown three interceptions before the injury occurred late in the fourth quarter. His fourth pick a little later sealed the 17-6 setback, dropping the club to 4-7 on the year.
“It got sore overnight and was definitely sore this morning,” Panthers head coach John Fox said on Monday. “The doctors took a look at it [Monday]. We’ll see what he can take and can’t take. I’d say he’d be pretty hard-pressed to take snaps Wednesday (at practice).” The embattled veteran has started 28 consecutive games behind center for Carolina.

The Tallahassee Democrat reported Monday that Bowden met with school president T.K. Wetherell and athletic director Randy Spetman for about an hour on Monday morning.
The legendary coach told a group at a booster luncheon that he will again talk with Wetherell and Spetman on Tuesday.

The interception, which came on the Steelers’ second drive of the extra session, was Dixon’s final play in what was otherwise a gutty effort by a player who had been the team’s third-string quarterback up until last week.
The second-year quarterback, who had thrown just one prior NFL pass, was pressed into service when starter Ben Roethlisberger (concussion) and top backup Charlie Batch (wrist) were ruled out earlier in the week, and acquitted himself reasonably well.

Vernon Davis caught six passes for 69 yards and a score for the 49ers (5-6), who bounced back from a 30-24 loss to Packers last Sunday. Frank Gore caught seven passes for 14 yards and a TD.
Gore led the ground attack with just 33 yards on 16 carries for San Francisco, which won despite being outgained 357-284.
